Summary of the January 10 City Council Meeting

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Council discussed with the administration details of the City’s four Homeless Resource Centers that will be built in the coming years. Conversation centered on the public process, including the three public workshops the City will hold in the coming days.

Workshop #1:

When: Wednesday, January 11, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Where: Salt Lake Community College, South City Campus ( 1575 State Street) Multipurpose Room

Workshop #2:

When: Wednesday, January 11, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Where: Salt Lake Community College, South City Campus (1575 State Street) Atrium

Workshop #3:

When: Wednesday, January 18, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Where: Nibley Park School, 2785 South 800 East Auditorium

The Council also:

  • discussed the East Bench Master Plan, which will establish goals and policies related to the future growth and development of the East Bench Community. The Council will hold a public hearing about the plan on Tuesday, February 7.
  • received an update on the status of development in the Northwest Quadrant,
  • discussed zoning proposals, and
  • met with state legislators who represent Salt Lake City to discuss topics of mutual interest that may arise during the State Legislative Session.
