At Tuesday’s meeting, the Salt Lake City Council discussed additional funding for Operation Rio Grande as part of a proposed budget amendment to the City’s Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget. Discussion centered on the need for additional police resources in neighborhoods. Council Members indicated their support for the Administration’s proposal and requested additional information about ways to increase police resources throughout the City. The Council will continue to discuss this proposal and will hold a public hearing on November 28 before taking action.
The Council also discussed the Transit Master Plan, Growing Salt Lake, the City’s housing plan, and approved the appointments of a number of people to City boards and committees.
