Recap of the April 18, 2017 City Council Meeting

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Council discussed the proposed budgets for the Airport and Public Utilities departments and held mid-year check-ins with the directors of the Sustainability and Community and Neighborhoods departments. The Council asked for more details and timeline information about the Administration’s plans to close the mid-block crosswalk on 200 South near the Road Home, and discussed safety concerns about the area as part of the discussion. Also discussed was the Citywide sewer rate increase, which will be used to pay for Capital Improvement Projects.

The Council also:

  • adopted a resolution approving a revised interlocal agreement that establishes the Central Wasatch Commission;
  • scheduled a number of public hearings, including the upcoming hearings about the proposed Fiscal Year 2017-18 Budget. Budget hearings will be held on May 16, May 23 and June 6 at 7 p.m.;
  • considered and approved the appointments of a number of people to City boards and commissions; and
  • held and closed eight public hearings;
  • approved a change in golf fees.
