In April of 2014, the Council hosted an air quality panel comprised of experts who discussed the causes and effects of poor air quality in addition to possible solutions.  Discussion included the regulatory role of municipalities, wood burning, residential heat source conversions, incentives, state emission projections and more.

Experts on the panel included representatives from the City Attorney’s Office, the Utah Department of Environment Quality, the Salt Lake County Health Department, the Salt lake County Community Action Program, and a number of City representatives.
